By | Energy, Resources & Renewables | No Comments

Highlights

  • Strong, Sustained Gas Flow: Well 271-KA03PT10 achieved a continuous flow of 92 Mscfd over 16 days, recovering a total of 1,422 Mscf of gas.
  • High-Quality Gas: The produced gas recorded an exceptional 99% methane content.
  • Exceeds Economic Forecasts: The sustained flow rate of 92 Mscfd significantly surpasses the 50 Mscfd rate that independent certifier Sproule B.V. assessed as required for positive economics.
  • Cluster Development: Well 271-KA03PT10 is the first successful well in the seven-well Brakfontein production cluster, utilising optimised drilling procedures.
  • Testing Commences on Next Well: Gas flow testing has begun on the next well in the cluster, 271-KA03PT06, which previously recorded a peak choke test flow of 1,600 Mscfd. Results for the sustained flow rate are anticipated in October 2025.
  • Next Steps: Testing is continuing on Well 271-KA03PT10 to determine the final sustained flow rate and establish the depletion curve characteristics.

Kinetiko Energy Ltd (ASX: KKO), which is focused on developing an energy solution for South Africa by commercialising its 100%-owned shallow conventional gas projects in the Mpumalanga Province, is pleased to announce that its production test well 271-KA03PT10 has successfully completed an extended gas flow test.

The Power Shift: How LNG is Fueling the Trucking Industry’s Green Transition

By | Energy, Resources & Renewables | No Comments

During a recent Gasworld webinar titled “LNG: What Future?,” Lars Mårtensson, Environment and Innovation Director at Volvo Trucks, shared his insights on the future of trucks powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). The webinar explored how LNG, as the cleanest fossil fuel, offers a significant advantage by not emitting soot or fumes upon combustion. It also produces 30% less carbon dioxide than diesel and 45% less than coal, making it a viable alternative for reducing emissions and addressing climate change during the global energy transition. However, with the rise of other energy sources, such as hydrogen and battery-electric options, a key question remains: what specific role will LNG play in the diverse energy landscape of the future?

The Blue Revolution: Transforming Indian Trucking with LNG

By | Energy, Resources & Renewables | No Comments

India’s push for a cleaner environment has ignited a crucial discussion: is Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) the key to a sustainable transportation future? In an exclusive interview, Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors, shares his company’s pioneering efforts to introduce LNG trucks to the Indian market.

Bhuwalka underscores the urgent need to address pollution, highlighting that heavy-duty vehicles, while few in number, are major contributors to emissions. Blue Energy Motors aims to tackle this by spearheading the transition to LNG, a move supported by a nationwide initiative to build 1,000 LNG fueling stations.

Through strategic partnerships with industry leaders like the IVECO Group, Blue Energy Motors is driving this shift, which aligns with India’s ambitious goals to cut carbon intensity by 45% by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2070.

Key Highlights of D3 Energy’s Production Right Application

  • Application Accepted: The formal Production Right application for a portion of the ER315 permit has been accepted for processing by South Africa’s regulator, Petroleum Agency SA.
  • Ahead of Schedule: The application was submitted approximately 12 months ahead of schedule and under budget.
  • Backed by Reserves: The submission follows the maiden reserve certification by Sproule ERCE, which confirmed net 2P reserves of 10.91 bcf methane and 0.706 bcf helium in the application area.
  • Limited Scope: The application area covers only 15% of the ER315 permit and 9% of D3 Energy’s total acreage portfolio.

D3 Energy is pleased to announce that its formal Production Right application for a portion of its ER315 permit has been accepted for processing. The application, which covers a project in South Africa’s Free State Province, was formally lodged with the regulator, Petroleum Agency SA.
